For my Final Year Major Project, I used my own experiences and key interest into chronic illnesses; delving into treatment adherence and the burden such conditions pose on patient’s day to day lives. From this, I created a nebuliser steam steriliser called ‘Pod’ designed for those living with Cystic Fibrosis and other lung conditions. ‘Pod’ enables users to reduce the growth of harmful bacteria on a nebuliser mouthpiece and airway clearance devices. It features a series of key touch points and creates an effective steam sterilisation cycle in only 6 minutes. This products innovation allows for nebuliser and physiotherapy equipment to be kept as clean and safe as possible, whilst also encouraging good treatment adherence among those living with the condition.
